Priscilla Presley Reveals: “If Elvis Were Alive, He’d Audition for The Voice—And All 4 Chairs Would Turn in 5 Seconds!”

Graceland, Memphis – An Exclusive That’s More Fantasy Than Fiction

Elvis Presley may have left the building, but in Priscilla Presley’s mind — and heart — he never truly left the stage.

During a nostalgic and laughter-filled evening at Graceland this week, Priscilla surprised the audience with an unexpected vision: Elvis Presley trying out for The Voice.

“If he were alive today,” she said with a grin, “I’m absolutely certain he’d audition. He’d love the mystery of singing from behind the curtain — just his voice, no expectations, no jumpsuits.”

But this wouldn’t be just any audition.

Priscilla painted the scene with vivid, almost cinematic detail:

“He’d wear jeans and a faded jacket. Sunglasses, of course — you know he wouldn’t be caught dead on stage without his shades. Maybe even a fake mustache just to mess with the crowd.”

As for the performance?

“He wouldn’t pick one of his classics. No ‘Hound Dog.’ No ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love.’ That’d be too obvious. He’d pick something smooth, maybe Sam Cooke or Bill Withers — or maybe something totally new. A neo-soul remix of ‘Burning Love’? I can just hear it.”

According to Priscilla, Elvis wouldn’t belt or show off — not at first. He’d sing with subtle control, let the judges lean in — and then, maybe halfway through the first verse, give them that signature vocal growl and a sly smile.

“By that point, all four chairs would spin,” she laughed. “He wouldn’t even make it to the chorus. Blake Shelton would be yelling ‘That’s MY guy!’ and Kelly Clarkson would probably cry.”

And which coach would Elvis choose?

“I think he’d keep them guessing,” Priscilla teased. “But deep down, I know he’d pick whoever promised to let him bring back the jumpsuits.”

She also imagined how Elvis might react to the show’s format:

“He’d be entertained by the drama — the emotional stories, the buzzer tension. But he’d also joke about it. I can almost hear him saying, ‘You mean I gotta wait for someone to turn a chair before I can finish my song?’

The night took a slightly more emotional turn as Priscilla reflected on Elvis’s enduring love for live performance.

“He didn’t perform to impress. He sang because it was the only thing that ever made him feel completely himself,” she said. “That’s why I think a show like The Voice, where it’s just about the sound — no image, no fame, no weight of being The King — would’ve been something he found thrilling.”

Even decades after his passing, Elvis’s presence remains palpable in the halls of Graceland — and apparently, in Priscilla’s imagination too.

Rumors — completely made up and entirely delightful — suggest that The Voice producers are working on a “Legends Edition,” featuring AI-generated performances by iconic artists like Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, and Prince.

Asked if she’d ever let them create an AI Elvis for such a show, Priscilla winked.

“Only if he wins.”
