Dak Prescott Delivers Passionate Message Ahead of 2025 NFL Season

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is entering his 10th NFL season, and he’s making it clear that he’s more motivated than ever. After a disappointing end to the 2024 campaign due to a serious hamstring injury, the veteran quarterback is determined to bounce back in a big way this year — with one ultimate goal in mind: winning the Super Bowl.

Prescott went down in Week 9 of the 2024 season with a partial avulsion of his right hamstring, meaning the tendon partially tore from the bone. The injury cut short a promising season and left fans wondering what could have been. Now healthy and back at training camp in Oxnard, California, Prescott is using that unfinished business as fuel.

Speaking with the media after Thursday’s practice, Prescott didn’t hold back when explaining what drives him. In a fiery, expletive-filled statement, he shared how the lack of a Super Bowl ring continues to push him to new heights.

“What I’ve done or accomplished really doesn’t hold any weight to me,” Prescott said. “That’s the true fcking motivation. That’s the truth… in your stomach. Like that’s what’s in your gut. It’s obvious that I don’t [have a Super Bowl], so it’s not like, ‘Oh my God, somebody knows there’s a secret.’ Like, my secret’s out. No, fck that.”

He added, “That’s what pushes me to be better each and every day, and that’s what I want. That’s not just for myself. It’s for everybody. You’ve got to love when your expectations and standards align with the coaches, the front office, and the fans. That’s what’s great about playing for the Cowboys. You’re only as good as your last game — period. And when your last games are playoff losses, that sits with you. It should sit with fans, too.”

Prescott’s message not only highlights his own passion but also reflects a new energy within the Cowboys’ locker room under offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Known for encouraging authenticity and competitive spirit, Schottenheimer has helped foster an environment where players are motivated to speak their truth and hold themselves accountable.

Dak’s comments offer a raw look into his mindset. Despite multiple playoff appearances, he’s well aware that his legacy in Dallas hinges on postseason success. With a 2–5 playoff record and no trips past the divisional round, the pressure is mounting. But rather than shy away from that, Prescott is embracing it.

Now entering 2025 with a fully healed body, a loaded roster, and renewed focus, Prescott appears ready to lead the Cowboys with everything he’s got. Whether that results in a long-awaited Super Bowl title remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: he’s not backing down from the challenge.
