Angel Reese Throws Shade at Caitlin Clark During All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese took full advantage of her time in Caitlin Clark’s city during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend — and fans quickly picked up on the message.
Caitlin Clark was unable to participate in the All-Star festivities this year due to a groin injury that’s kept her sidelined for multiple games. Despite her absence from the court, Clark was still a central figure in the weekend’s events, as she was named one of the two All-Star team captains alongside Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier.
But while Clark stayed off the court, Angel Reese didn’t hold back from igniting their ongoing rivalry — one that dates back to college basketball’s biggest stage.
During the weekend, Reese shared a video to her Instagram account that included a clip with the words: “WALK IN YOUR TRAP TAKEOVER YOUR TRAP.” She captioned the post, “I’M IN YOUR CITYYY…….” — a phrase many fans immediately interpreted as a direct shot at Clark.
The post appears to be a playful, yet bold, jab referencing their long-standing tension, which began during the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship Game. In that game, Reese’s LSU Tigers defeated Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in a dominant performance. In the final moments of that blowout win, Reese famously taunted Clark with John Cena’s “You can’t see me” gesture — something Clark had used earlier in the tournament herself.
Though Reese’s gesture sparked massive debate across sports and social media circles, she stood by her actions at the time, saying she was simply matching the energy and trash talk that Clark had shown throughout the tournament. The moment instantly cemented the rivalry between two of college basketball’s most electric stars.
Now, both players are in the WNBA and still very much in the spotlight — with Reese starring for the Sky and Clark leading the Indiana Fever. Their matchups continue to draw huge crowds and headlines, and it’s clear that even off the court, the rivalry lives on.
While Caitlin Clark couldn’t respond on the court during All-Star weekend, fans are eagerly awaiting the next Fever vs. Sky showdown — and another potential chapter in this highly watched feud.
