Charlie Woods had a significant setback in his golfing career.
Woods enjoyed a much better second round of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship but will not advance to the tournament’s match play rounds.
The young son of Tiger Woods shot a 3-over 74 in the second round of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, but will miss the cut for match play.
Woods, a rising junior at the Benjamin School, shot 74 (3-over) on July 22 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.

He finished 14-over (81-74—155) in the two-day stroke play portion of the tournament. Unfortunately for Charlie Woods, the projected cut line to qualify for match play was 2-over.
The U.S. Junior Amateur features a 264-player field with stroke play at Trinity Forest Golf Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club, both in Dallas.
Tiger was seen following him during play on Monday. Woods won the U.S. Junior Amateur three straight times from 1991-93.
Trinity Forest will then host championship match play rounds with the final match scheduled for July 26.

The 16-year-old Woods finished the second round at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas on Tuesday with a 74 (3-over).
